At Seventy Barcelona, we’re committed not just to the well-being of our guests and our visitors, but to that of the planet as a whole. In all of our activities, we strive to minimize our impact on the environment by embracing energy efficiency and using materials and processes that conserve natural resources.
We are proud members of the BIOSPHERE Industry Community, a certification granted by the Responsible Tourism Institute promoted by the Barcelona Tourist Office, Chamber of Commerce, and City Hall, and an integral component of the BCN + SUSTAINABLE network, a group of over 1,000 organizations committed to environmental, social, and economic sustainability that collectively work to enhance the city’s respect for its people and its natural environs. This commitment is aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, through the World Charter for Sustainable Tourism +20.
Being a committed member of Biosphere and following all COVID-19 protocols each and every day, Seventy Barcelona has earned the SAFE TRAVEL Stamp, conferred by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) to recognize establishments that have faithfully implemented recommended human health and safety guidelines.
At Seventy Barcelona, we have a zero waste, no-plastic, and pro-sharing philosophy and we make every effort to encourage guests to use resources responsibly (towel service, bathrobes…)
We’ve also adopted the Seasonal Menu, one of the first initiatives that Barcelona launched in its position as the World Capital of Sustainable Food 2021. This project of the Barcelona City Hall seeks to change the city’s eating habits and dining models by promoting healthier practices and more sustainable ingredients. In accordance with these principles, Seventy Barcelona serves up rich and balanced dishes, made with seasonal and local products that preserve the style and quality of our Mediterranean cuisine, while reducing waste by cooking to order.
Our building, a new construction designed by the prestigious architectural firm OAB Barcelona, was built with state-of-the-art materials that prioritize environmental sustainability not only in their technical characteristics, but also in the mode of their production and the sourcing of their raw materials; at each crossroads in the building process, we consistently opted for the most eco-friendly options.
The result is a building that took respect for the environment into account every step of the way, from its construction, which sought to promote conservation, to its last finishing touches, which undertook to preserve urban biodiversity by installing nests in exterior walls where native species could continue to live peacefully. The building also stands out for its open spaces like The Patio, featuring native Mediterranean flora and an efficient watering system, its recycling system, and its use of professional-grade biodegradable cleaning products.
In all of our spaces, we guarantee maximum energy efficiency, earning “A” grades in both energy efficiency and CO2 emissions, with the help of efficient climate control and automatic lighting systems that reduce consumption; insulated façades; high-quality windows for maximum soundproofing and thermal performance; and the use of renewable energies like solar panels for DHW and aerothermal energy.
Our guests can also enjoy the holistic products offered at our 100% vegan and organic Spa. And our parking garage features energy-saving LED lighting and has eight spots equipped with charging stations for electric vehicles.
